So, why bother to run a "Clean GREEN" production and company?

I think it's important for people to live an environmentally responsible lifestyle, not only in their personal life, but in their commercial and work-related life as well. I've been on sets and seen so much wasted and so much trash produced that I found it very disturbing, and the worst part is that nobody seemed to care. Large amounts of materials that could have easily been recycled, whether it be prop and set related or from catering, were just heaped into bags and dumpsters as trash. Large amounts of foam, plastic, and paper that could easily have been separated into a recycling bin were just thrown away.

Isn't this a lot of trouble? I mean, it's hard enough running a production...

Everything in life is a lot of work. And that's just a big excuse from lazy over stressed producers and crew. There are always time constraints on a production and things often run longer than anticipated, but it only takes a moment of coordination at the beginning of the day to say "Put all recyclable materials here and put all other trash here." It's simple. I think the problem is lack of education and disinterest. A production, meaning a crew showing up somewhere to film something, or group of people putting on a large staged event, is a resource consuming and trash producing monster.
