The last time I wrote a blog and I spoke about how our recycling committee at school was doing an amazing job doing their part for the environment. Unfortunately, when school restarted the city refused to pick up the recycling, thus placing us in the same position as we started at the beginning of last year. The city refused to pick it because it was inconvenient and not on their pick-up plan. All the heard work that we did last year was wasted. We are trying especially hard to restart the recycling of plastic, glass and metal at our school, hopefully we'll convince how important it is to the city officials. I considered writing a letter to our city newspaper explaining our situation, should I do it?
Other then that, I've been recycling other things. I've been reusing old clothes. I've been cutting and sewing away trying to make something new out of something old. I have already managed to fix four skirts, a dress that became a shirt, a towel into a towel pillow case, three glasses cases out of old scraps of cloth and a old silk Chinese nightgown into a cute silk dress. Yes, I've been working hard, but there's nothing better then seeing the finished project, and you can't help but feel super proud of yourself. I wanted to start some sort of business. I had an idea that I could advertise that if you brought in old clothes or clothes you didn't like anymore I could fix them up for them, and voila! Brand new! What do you think? Is it a waste of time? Do you think it would sell?
See, recycling CAN be fashionable ;)
